Max Friedlander Mitzvah Project
For my Bar Mitzvah project, I’m collecting gently used soccer uniforms and equipment for kids who don’t have access to gear. When my Bridgewater United team got new uniforms this summer, I wanted to give the old ones a second life.
The Gift of Soccer Foundation empowers underprivileged youth worldwide through the joy of soccer. With financial support, they collect and repurpose gear, giving kids the chance to learn, play, and grow. By providing resources to humanitarian organizations, they help build trust in local communities, bringing happiness to children and opening doors to better health, education, and essential services.

I’d like to thank my Coaches and Teams for all their help and participation. Both BUSC and the Lions will help me accomplish my goal with this Mitzvah project.

Partnering with The Gift of Soccer is a meaningful Mitzvah project because it channels the simple act of giving into real, tangible change. This is a hands-on way to practice tikkun olam—inviting friends, and family to share what they have, reduce waste, and uplift others.
Most of all, it reminds us that generosity—whether a single ball or a full bag of gear—can spark joy, build confidence, and create a lasting ripple of kindness.
