Why did we start The Gift of Soccer
As youth soccer coaches, team managers, and parents, We witnessed firsthand how much usable soccer gear was being discarded each season—cleats that no longer fit, jerseys worn for just a year, and balls replaced before their full lifespan was up. At the same time, we knew there were children in underserved communities, both locally and around the world, who didn’t have access to even the most basic soccer equipment. Seeing this waste alongside the need was frustrating, and we knew there had to be a way to bridge the gap.
That realization led to the creation of The Gift of Soccer Foundation. Instead of letting perfectly good gear go to waste, we began collecting and repurposing it, giving children the opportunity to play and benefit from the sport, no matter their circumstances. Soccer is more than just a game—it teaches teamwork, discipline, and confidence.
As parents, we also wanted to teach our own children and our community about giving back and being appreciative of the opportunities they have. Through The Gift of Soccer, we’ve been able to show young players that their old gear can make a real difference in someone else’s life. It has become more than just a donation effort—it’s a way to instill a sense of gratitude and social responsibility in future generations.
Every time we see a child receive their first real pair of cleats or watch a community come together through soccer, we are reminded why we started this mission. The Gift of Soccer isn’t just about gear—it’s about giving kids a chance to dream, play, and grow while fostering a culture of generosity and compassion.

Be an Advocate Become a GOS Ambassador
Soccer has been a constant in our lives—shaping our character, friendships, and love for community. As an Ambassador for The Gift of Soccer Foundation, we get to represent the game we love by creating awareness, rallying support, and turning gently used gear into real opportunities for kids. Every cleat, jersey, and ball we help repurpose keeps good equipment out of landfills, puts it into the hands of young players, and—most importantly—makes kids happy along the way.

As an overactive kid, I started playing soccer at five years old and never looked back. What began on local town teams grew into opportunities with Scorpions SC, five years of Division I soccer at UNH and NC State, and now a professional career overseas in New Zealand and the Czech First Division. No matter where the game has taken me, soccer has remained a shared language, creating connection across cultures, backgrounds, and borders.
The sport has given me lifelong friendships, purpose, and opportunities I never imagined. During my recent injury, I had time to reflect on how I could give back to the game that shaped me. I realized that the gear I had accumulated over the years, including cleats, shin guards, training gear, and jerseys often used for only a season, could have a second life in communities where access to equipment is limited.
This initiative is my way of turning gratitude into action. By collecting gently used gear and redistributing it to underserved communities, I hope to help more kids stay in the game and experience the same joy, confidence, and sense of belonging that soccer gave me.
As an aspiring Physician Assistant, that mission extends beyond the field. Whether through healthcare or sport, I want to improve access, remove barriers, and serve communities that are too often overlooked.

I am honored and excited to launch the pilot chapter of The Gift of Soccer here in El Paso. Soccer has been a part of my life since I was five, and I continued playing through college—it’s been a lifelong source of joy and connection.
I recently moved to El Paso for dental school and have been inspired by the kindness and strong sense of community within this unique region. Through this chapter, I hope to give back in a meaningful way by sharing my passion for soccer and helping others discover and grow their own love for the game by receiving the proper equipment and support they need.

I was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and moved to Miami with my family when I was eight years old. Soccer came with me. I’d been playing since I was four, and from the moment I arrived in South Florida, the game was how I found my footing in a new place — new language, new country, new everything. Football was the one thing that stayed the same.
I played for local clubs across South Florida before finishing my academy years at Levante in Spain. From there I signed my first professional contract with KSV Roeselare in Belgium’s second division. COVID brought me back home, and since then I’ve played for Inter Miami CF II, the Tampa Bay Rowdies, Lexington SC, and for the past two seasons, One Knoxville SC in USL League One.
Six years as a professional. Every city, every locker room, every early morning — football gave me all of it. And the thing that stays with me most isn’t the games. It’s the kids I was once one of, playing in a country where the sport is everything, with whatever gear they could find.
Through United Under 1Language, we’re working to change that. More kids with access to the game. More moments like the ones that shaped me. That’s what the Summer of Soccer is about — and there’s nowhere else I’d rather be putting this energy.

I grew up in Philadelphia playing for local clubs and coming up through the Philadelphia Union Academy. Football was the structure my whole childhood was built around — the training, the teammates, the standard the academy held you to. It shaped how I approach everything.
After my academy years I went on to play NCAA Division I soccer at Indiana University. From college I signed with Inter Miami CF II, where I played for two years before moving to Atlanta United in 2025. I’m now in my first season with Las Vegas Lights FC in 2026.
The professional game has taken me from Philadelphia to Miami to Atlanta to Las Vegas. Different cities, different clubs, different cultures — but the same language every time. That’s the thing about football. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or what your background is. The game finds a way to connect people.
That belief is what United Under 1Language is built on. Alongside The Gift of Soccer, we’re working to make sure more kids get access to that experience — the gear, the environment, the opportunity to fall in love with something that can carry them further than they imagine. Football did that for me. We want to do that for them.
