Launched in 2020, Rhode Island Surf is an official Partner of Surf Soccer, one of the most prestigious and successful clubs in North America.
The Mission of Surf is to create “best of the best” experiences and opportunities for youth soccer players through our clubs, events and facilities.
Collection for Gently Used Soccer Gear
My name is Addison Longval, and I am an 8th-grade student at Monsignor Clarke School in Wakefield, RI. As part of our 8th-grade year, we are required to conduct a service project for a community need we are associated with. I play soccer for Rhode Island Surf and feel very fortunate to have the opportunities, facilities, and equipment that I do. For my service project, I would like to organize a local collection drive of gently used soccer equipment. I have done a great deal of research to find a cause that I feel strongly about, and I am really excited to support The Gift of Soccer Foundation.

Why? – Teaming Up to Give the Gift of Soccer
Rhode Island Surf is proud to partner with The Gift of Soccer Foundation in a meaningful initiative to collect and repurpose gently used soccer uniforms and gear. As a club that believes in responsibility both on and off the field, Rhode Island Surf is taking action to ensure that no piece of equipment goes to waste—and that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has the opportunity to experience the joy of the game.
Through this gear drive, players and families are encouraged to donate cleats, uniforms, balls, and other equipment that may no longer be in use but still have so much to give. These donations will be sent to underserved communities around the world—bringing smiles, creating opportunities, and building the next generation of soccer lovers.
By participating in this initiative, Rhode Island Surf is setting a powerful example of what it means to be a conscious, community-driven club—one that values sustainability, global impact, and the transformative power of sport.
