Max Silverman’s Bar Mitzvah Project:
Sharing the Game I Love
Since I was 5 years old, soccer has been a big part of my life. It’s taught me teamwork, perseverance, and how amazing it feels to be part of something bigger than myself. For my Bar Mitzvah project, I want to help other kids experience that same joy and connection through the game I love.
Many kids want to play soccer but don’t have access to the basic equipment they need — like cleats, shin guards, balls, or even uniforms. That’s where my project comes in!
I’m collecting gently used soccer gear and monetary donations to help provide equipment to children who otherwise might not be able to play.
How You Can Help
- Donate gently used soccer items (cleats, balls, shin guards, uniforms, socks, or bags).
- Make a monetary donation to help purchase equipment or cover shipping costs.
Every item or dollar makes a difference — and helps another child feel the same sense of teamwork, confidence, and belonging that soccer has given me.
Thank you for helping me make a positive impact and share the love of the game!

Partnering with The Gift of Soccer is a meaningful Mitzvah project because it channels the simple act of giving into real, tangible change. By raising funds, collecting gently used cleats, jerseys, and balls, your community extends the life of loved equipment and opens doors for children who are eager to play but lack resources. This is a hands-on way to practice tikkun olam—inviting friends, and family to share what they have, reduce waste, and uplift others.
Most of all, it reminds us that generosity—whether a single ball or a full bag of gear—can spark joy, build confidence, and create a lasting ripple of kindness.
