Thursday night saw a great turnout for the Rio Soccer Club and Colorado Rapids Altitude Soccer Training Clinic. Rio SC had 265 kids participate in the two session clinic at Albuquerque’s Balloon Fiesta Park. Brian Cookham, the CO Rapids Senior Director of Youth Development, headed the sessions with the Rio SC Director and Coaching Staff juggling the 9 training fields. The CO Rapids organization provided each kid with a Team Rapids T-Shirt and a very intense training session. It was great to see so many kids enjoying the lessons and the camaraderie of their fellow club players. Many of the kids and families attended the Colorado Rapids and Santos Laguna professional International Friendly match the following night at UNM Stadium. The Gift of Soccer Staff helped to organize, register, check-in all the kids for the event. A special thanks to Margie Espe and Kenny Levandoski for cranking through the process of getting everyone checked-in and get thier T-Shirts!
