Connor Vandenberg’s Bar Mitzvah Project:
Helping All Kids Play Soccer
I have been playing soccer since I was very young, and it has become a big part of my life. Soccer is meaningful to me because it has taught me discipline, teamwork, and dedication.
For my Mitzvah Project, I want to help kids who may not have access to the proper equipment so they can play the game I love. Every child should have the opportunity to experience the joy of soccer..
To make this possible, I need your help! You can support this project by donating gently used soccer equipment such as:
- Cleats
- Shin Guards
- Balls
- Uniforms
- Making a monetary donation
Thank you for helping give more kids the chance to play soccer!

Partnering with The Gift of Soccer is a meaningful Mitzvah project because it channels the simple act of giving into real, tangible change. By raising funds, collecting gently used cleats, jerseys, and balls, your community extends the life of loved equipment and opens doors for children who are eager to play but lack resources. This is a hands-on way to practice tikkun olam—inviting friends, and family to share what they have, reduce waste, and uplift others.
Most of all, it reminds us that generosity—whether a single ball or a full bag of gear—can spark joy, build confidence, and create a lasting ripple of kindness.
