Gift of Play in Parramos, Guatemala

The Gift of Soccer partnered with SportQuest to deliver a new wave of repurposed gear to youth in Guatemala, recently received by our local partner Mynor Mendez. Together, we outfitted a boys’ team and a girls’ team in Parramos, reaching about 40 players ages 13–16. After running drills and a friendly scrimmage, coaches worked with Mynor to match players with the right sizes and needs—ensuring each item went straight to the field where it’s needed most.

Gear distribution included shoes, shin guards, and goalkeeper gloves, with hygiene kits provided to the girls’ team. For many, this is their first time training in proper equipment—boosting confidence, safety, and a sense of belonging.
