Collection of Gently Used Soccer Gear

Bentley Tedrick has played soccer since he was 3 years old. Bentley loves being a team leader and mentoring other players on the field, pushing himself to expand his skill set and, of course, competing together toward a common goal. As a freshman at Inderkum High School in the Advanced English Class, students are required to volunteer 10 hours doing community service. This community service requirement is elevated in every year of high school at Inderkum in their International Baccalaureate program. Bentley chose to start a Soccer For Good collection at his club, Placer United Soccer Club, during their largest tournament of the year, the Girls Cup on October 23-25. Bentley is hoping to turn this collection into an annual event at this tournament and involve more players. It is Bentley’s hope that other kids will be able to enjoy soccer just as much as he does by the use of this equipment!

Why? – Teaming Up to Give the Gift of Soccer

Bentley Tedrick and Placer United Soccer Club is proud to partner with The Gift of Soccer Foundation in a meaningful initiative to collect and repurpose gently used soccer uniforms and gear. As a club that believes in responsibility both on and off the field, Placer United Soccer Club is taking action to ensure that no piece of equipment goes to waste—and that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has the opportunity to experience the joy of the game.

Through this gear drive, players and families are encouraged to donate cleats, uniforms, balls, and other equipment that may no longer be in use but still have so much to give. These donations will be sent to underserved communities around the world—bringing smiles, creating opportunities, and building the next generation of soccer lovers.

By participating in this initiative, Bentley Tedrick and Placer United Soccer Club is setting a powerful example of what it means to be a conscious, community-driven organization—one that values sustainability, global impact, and the transformative power of sport.

Let’s change the world together—one jersey, one ball, one child at a time.
